WHY rattanay LEGAL
What Sets Our Practice Apart
A Measured, Unhurried Approach
Every instruction is considered carefully. We do not move faster than the family is ready to move, and we take time to explain each step in writing before proceeding.
Written Communication at Every Stage
Progress notes, explanations, and decisions are shared in writing. Clients are never left to reconstruct what was said from memory alone.
Respect for Family Dignity
Inheritance matters are personal. Our conduct throughout is guided by discretion, and we are attentive to the sensitivities that arise within families at difficult moments.
Grounded in Thai Law
Our practitioners work within the Thai Civil and Commercial Code and the succession procedures of the Thai courts, with direct knowledge of local practice.
Plain English Throughout
Legal material is prepared in clear English for international clients and families who may not read Thai legal documents easily.
Transparent Fees
Fees are set out clearly before any work begins. There are no hidden costs, and any change to the scope of work is discussed and agreed in writing before it proceeds.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
What matters does rattanay Legal handle?
We focus on inheritance and succession matters under Thai law. This includes formal notification of beneficiaries, coordination of estate communications, mediation between family members with differing views, and court representation in succession proceedings that have moved to formal litigation.
How do I begin working with your firm?
You are welcome to contact us by telephone or through the form on this page. We will respond within one working day. An initial meeting, either in person at our Bangkok office or by video call, allows us to understand the situation and describe clearly what steps might follow, with no obligation to proceed.
How long does an inheritance matter typically take?
The timeline depends on the nature of the matter. Beneficiary notification work can be completed over several weeks. Mediation between family members typically takes place over one or two structured sessions. Court proceedings in succession matters follow the schedule of the Thai courts and may extend over a number of months, depending on complexity.
Are your services available in English?
Yes. All written communications, explanatory notes, and progress reports are prepared in clear English. Our practitioners are comfortable advising foreign nationals and families with international members, and we take care to avoid legal language that is difficult to follow without a specialist background.
What are your fees, and are there additional costs?
Our service fees are listed clearly: 5,000 THB for beneficiary notification and coordination, 10,200 THB for mediation, and 15,000 THB for court representation in succession matters. Court filing fees and any disbursements specific to a matter are disclosed in advance and are not included in the service fee. There are no undisclosed charges.
Can mediation preserve the option of court proceedings later?
Yes. Our mediation service is designed so that any written outcome reached through the process does not foreclose the option of formal proceedings if those later become necessary. The aim is a calm, written understanding the family can live with — not a binding settlement that removes all future options without full consideration.
